Australian Privacy Principles
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and comply with the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs govern the way organisations collect, use, disclose and secure personal information, and they give individuals rights to access and correct the information held about them. Where this policy refers to personal information, it means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether it is recorded in a material form or not.
What Information We Collect
The kinds of personal information we collect and hold depend on the nature of our dealings with you. Typically this may include:
- Your name, business name and position or title.

- Records of our communications with you, including emails and correspondence.
- Billing and payment information where we supply services to you.
We only collect personal information by lawful and fair means. Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect information directly from you, such as when you complete a form on this website, send us an email, or engage our services. We may also collect information about you from third parties where this is reasonably necessary, for example from a colleague or representative acting on your behalf, or from publicly available sources.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health information or information about political opinions) unless it is reasonably necessary for one of our functions or activities and you have consented, or the collection is otherwise permitted by law.
How We Use Your Information
We collect, hold and use personal information for purposes connected with our business and consulting activities, including:
- Responding to enquiries and providing quotes.
- Providing, managing and administering our professional business and consulting services.
- Invoicing, accounting and record-keeping.

We will not use or disclose your personal information for a purpose other than the primary purpose of collection unless the secondary purpose is related (or in the case of sensitive information, directly related) and you would reasonably expect us to use or disclose it for that purpose, or you have consented, or the use or disclosure is required or authorised by or under an Australian law or a court or tribunal order.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Our professional advisers, such as accountants, auditors and legal advisers, where reasonably required.
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, website analytics, email delivery, payment processing or document management, under contractual obligations of confidence and security.
- Government agencies, regulators or courts, where disclosure is required or authorised by law.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site, to remember your preferences and to improve website performance. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete them through your browser settings; refusing cookies may affect some functionality of the website. Analytics data collected through our website is used in aggregate form and does not identify individual visitors.
Security of Personal Information
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include limiting access to personal information to personnel and service providers who need it to carry out our functions, and using secure systems and storage practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. When personal information is no longer required, and we are not required to retain it under Australian law (for example, record-keeping obligations that apply to business and financial records), we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Data Breaches
We have processes in place to identify and respond to data breaches. If a data breach occurs and it is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose information is involved, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including assessing the breach and notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.
Access and Correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct information that you believe is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable period. In some circumstances permitted by the APPs, we may decline a request, in which case we will explain our reasons and, where relevant, how you may have the decision reviewed.
Overseas Disclosure
Some of our service providers, such as website hosting and email providers, may be located outside Australia or may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps in accordance with APP 8 to ensure the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to that information.
